**RIVERSIDE CHATS WILL BE FILLED ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS!**
As women we second guess ourselves, compare our accomplishments to other, and too often view other women as competitors rather than allies. Self reflection can suck sometimes. But it takes a good dose of self realization to step into your own and walk in your true calling. Social media encourages us to tap into our authentic selves while it simultaneously pushes us toward a kind of conformity. But in a real-lived life, rarely are we living ONE singular experience. We are mothers, sisters, brothers, fathers, teachers, business people, artists, etc.: multi faceted and multi-passionate. And we push ourselves to tell stories that speak to our experiences.
The goal of this workshop is to provide a safe space for cross-pollination of ideas inter-generationally, across cultures, and across gender. Using Malcolm Gladwell's story of David and Goliath as a unifying point of connection, and drawing from the 4 types of stories that bloggers usually tell, this workshop will demonstrate how real life challenges can create opportunities. In this way we will broaden and deepen authentic conversations in the world of social media.
You will leave this Chat better able to:
1. Think more broadly. (How to think about things not experienced.)
2. Listen more deeply. (How to listen for understanding in the face of new ideas.)
3. Communicate more authentically. (How to communicate lived life experiences.)
4. Share more compassionately. (How to share others’ stories and expand everyone’s experience.)
5. Produce better content
We'll also discuss branding, rebranding, the perils of over-sharing and ways to create an online personality that is in line with your true self.
