The ONE Girls and Women program, which launched this past July, is designed to engage new audiences and motivate existing ones by examining ONE’s issues through the lens of girls and women. The goal is to motivate and activate thousands more people to take action against extreme poverty, which disproportionately affects girls and women. In addition, it provides a platform for ONE’s partners to highlight their work to ONE’s 2.6 million U.S. members.

This initiative represents an expanded way to communicate about extreme poverty beyond ONE’s traditional messaging. The program is used to showcase ONE’s partners, highlighting our partners’ important work on topics outside our area of expertise and providing our members with updates on relevant girls and women topics. We continue to engage with our digital influencers, whose combined reach totals more than 48 million.  

ABOUT ONE. ONE is an international campaigning and advocacy organization of nearly 6 million people taking action to end extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa… because the facts show extreme poverty has already been cut in half and can be virtually eliminated by 2030, but only if we act with urgency now.

Co- founded by Bono, we raise public awareness and work with political leaders to combat AIDS and preventable diseases, increase investments in agriculture and nutrition, and demand greater transparency so governments are accountable to their citizens. ONE works closely with African activists and policymakers as they fight corruption, promote poverty-fighting priorities, monitor the use of aid, and help build civil society and economic development.
